Running Ahead of God's Plan

Boy, just when I think I’ve got it all together, I don’t! Time wasted, plans askew, birthdays forgotten . . . and on the list goes. Does that ever happen to you?
It’s always a delicate balance between following God’s leading and going off on our own, usually ahead of His plans. We get so impatient and just rush headlong. And it really doesn’t bode well.
Years ago God was preparing me for my healing journey. Things started falling out of my life as His words reached my heart. “Simplify” was His strong command. I had no idea why. Finally, when all I had left was my job and my correspondence courses in Christian counseling, I heard that word again:
SIMPLIFY
At last I realized He had never asked me to take the classes. I dropped them. And He was ready to pick up the slack. The healing journey started within a short time. And somehow I’ve never regretted simplifying my life to make room for healing.
