This is the final blog of the series taken from Strengthen Yourself in the Lord, chapter title “Not on My Shift”

Ever heard someone declare their right to do whatever? Or realized they felt the universe revolved around them? This attitude is common in children, but is usually outgrown with maturity.

Bill Johnson reminds us of Romans 14:7, “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.” NKJV

I had a pastor who was fond of saying that, as Christians, we have no rights. We are servants of the Most High God, and we do His will. And His will may seem right to us, or it may seem wrong in the moment. But we are not our own God. He is the Lord Adonai.

His will always holds good for us. If we don’t give in to impatience, but wait on the Lord, we will see it.

And not just good for us. He has given us work to do according to His desires. He prepares us to do the work, equips us, and sustains us.

Eph 2:10:  “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.” NKJV

Even if you are alone, you are not. He is always there, guiding and sustaining, strengthening and loving.

      We are strong in Him.
