Yeah, Sure!

Have you ever said “Yeah, sure!” in response to reading or hearing a promise from Scripture?
Most of us have. And it’s kind of sad.
Do you believe His promises are for others, but not for you? Why do you think that is?
Everybody has their own list of reasons, but here are some common ones:
- I’m too bad, too sinful
- I’m too broken, too wounded
- He doesn’t love me; look where I am
- I’m too angry at Him. He failed me.
This list is full of lies.
Yes, I was there for many years. I didn’t believe God really loved me. I was too broken. I believed (because that’s what I’d been told) that I was unloveable and stupid and worthless. That God hated me. That I’d done unforgiveable things. That there was no hope of redemption.
But those lies gave way when brought into the light. That was when I started asking God to let me see myself through His eyes. To see me like He did. To reject the lies.
It wasn’t easy to reject them. They had grown deep roots. But now I know His love. And my memoir is full of hope for others.
Ask. Receive. Respond.
He loves you.
