Hey, there. I am pleased to announce that I have returned from Nashville where I recorded My Personal Holocaust as an audiobook. It should be released in 6-8 weeks; I will be sure to announce the news!
One odd (to me) statement I hear frequently goes along the lines of “writing this must have been cathartic for you”, or “speaking the truth helps healing along”.
Those type of comments seem odd to me for one simple reason: I did not write the book for myself. Or my healing. It was not cathartic or a relief. I waited over ten years before writing it. Time enough for the healing to take root.
I wrote it to bring healing, hope, and restoration to others, especially fellow survivors of severe trauma and abuse. I wrote it to bring glory to the Healer, who orchestrated my journey.
Another comment I hear (or read): Thank you for writing this book. Now I know I’m not crazy!
This is the reason I wrote the book. This is the reason I traveled to Tennessee and did the hard work of recording it. And this is how I pray regularly, asking that the book fulfills every purpose for which it was intended.
