Sometimes I’ve wondered if God really knows everything happening in my life. And if He does know, does He really care? 

I’ve seen TV shows where a father has picked up a terrified, crying child and gently told them “It’s okay. Hush now, I got you. You’re safe.” And the child calms down as he recognizes the caring voice. He realizes he is in safe and secure hands. 

Has God ever told you the same thing? Have you heard His voice whisper to your heart, “It’s okay. You’re safe. I’m not   going anywhere.”

     After my mom had a stroke in 2018, I brought her to live with me in my home. Caregiving was hard, but I knew I was doing the right thing for her. If I had put her into assisted living, she certainly would have been, at the least, very unhappy at having to deal with strangers all day. 

     Three years later, God spoke to my heart. Gently, He told me, “I’ve got this.” 

     I recognized His voice. I appreciated what He said. Even though I wasn’t sure what He was referring to, I felt supported and secure. And a few weeks later, Mom passed away peacefully in her sleep. 

He does know. He does care.

And He is a good, good Father.
